Nicole and James - September 3, 2006

Nicole and James - I have got to say this - they are truly blessed! Their wedding fell on Sunday, the day after Hurricane Ernesto hit us hard with pounding rain. The outdoor wedding was moved indoors.
I arrived to New Hope and to my happy surprise, the sun stayed shining and they were able to move the wedding outdoors. It was a perfect Sunday outdoor wedding with the perfect weather.
I have to admit to this, I was one of many in the throngs that needed tissues due to the amount of tears this couple inspired.
Enjoy the photos - there are quite a few here as we had oodles of time to work together. This sampling was hard to narrow down.

My two recommendations for vendors are:

Rings!

This weekend is going to be fun! In lieu of one of my "regular" engagement sessions, Linda and Fabien entrusted me with their wedding rings to take some shots. Their rings were so gorgeous and had so many colors in them that I wanted to highlight. I had so much fun coming up with some new ways of showing the rings off that would also showcase the spirituality and fun loving spirit that this couple have.

Personal Work Sunday

I have a few missing posts to catch up with! I had an opportunity last weekend to get away for a few days. I headed out to New Paltz, NY for a few days of rest and hiking with some (fake) rock climbing! It was wonderful to get away and unwind for a little bit in the midst of the busy wedding season. If anyone is looking for a great place to stay in New Paltz, I HIGHLY recommend The Hungry Ghost Guesthouse. Petra and Michael Trunkes are the owners and they are simply delightful people. The attention to detail here was unmatched and best of all, it was a vegan getaway so healthy eating all weekend AND all the hiking and biking trails are a walk away from their doorstep. Keep your eyes open, you might even get to see a black bear!

But now I have to get the latest work up for everyone to see. This is going to be a heavy hitter this week as there have been some great images lately!

First - as it's "personal work Sunday" here are some images from my trip. The first shows the top of one of my climbs called The Lemon Squeeze. It was such a fun climb and I met a really nice couple from NYC also enjoying the hike. Turns out, the girl is also a photographer and a studio manager for a still life photographer in NYC. The second shot shows the view right before I climbed up that rickety little ladder.

And for "personal work Sunday" I have some undeveloped rolls from my Holga camera recently. Here are two that I enjoyed. The first one is from a ruin in Mexico. Second is from The Rumblers car show at Asbury Lanes, NJ last year.

Jacquie and Jay: August 26, 2006

Very fun wedding with a sweet couple! Jacquie and Jay have exquisite taste in whatever they do!
Ceremony/Reception: Mountain Lakes Club - Mountain Lakes, NJ

Here are some of my favs from their day

R.I.P. Steve Irwin

In honor of the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin's unfortunate passing, I wanted to post some images I took at his zoo in Queensland back in 2001.
I know many people don't agree with his behavior on camera with the animals, but I have to say, his zoo was one of the healthiest I have ever seen. The animals were well cared for and I didn't see any abnormal behaviour that indicated the animals were bored, restless or otherwise unhealthy in spirit or body. I also found out that almost all of his profit goes right back into animal conservation.

Personal Work Sunday

What a fast week it has been. I hope everyone had a restful long holiday weekend! I've been working away - some great wedding images will be appearing shortly. In the meantime, it's that day again - personal work Sunday. Today I'm showing some of my underwater photography.

MIDDLE: clownfish from Papua New Guinea
BOTTOM: during a safety stop at a dive site called Blue Hole in Guam. This image was an award winning image in last year's International Photography Awards.
